Default avr suggestion

I am looking for some avr suggestion. My setup is 7.1, sony bdp-s500 and sanyo 1080i lcd projector. Currently I am using a karman-hardon avr with no hdmi connection. It works find except I like to have high-def audio. Multiple hdmi input is a plus but not neccessary. One way of getting high-def audio with my current setup is to use the 5.1 analog output of the bdp-s500 to drive 7.1 (using Y connection to drive 4 of the sattleigh preamps with two ouput out of bdp-s500). Any idea is appreciated.
