I read the so-so review on this site, but I bought this anyway because of the connecting spine art. LOL It actually wasn't as bad as I expected (thank you, BD dot com review). It's light, superhero fare aimed for kids rather than adults. Plus I don't mind the new character designs and art style that others have complained about.

Just watched and enjoyed it very much. Not sure where all the negative reaction is coming from. It's a solid, well animated and tightly told narrative starring the girl of steel. I do like these ~80 minute DC films. Superhero films tend to overstay their welcome so the pace of these is very much welcome. Thought the Braniac 5 character was done very well here

A very good 8/10 from me. Add at least another point if you're a fan of Supergirl.

DC has flopped with its (mostly) awful Hollywood films, but the animated universe remains strong.

With that snippet at the end involving Superman and Batman - very much looking forward to the next one!

Which is sad really, DC was really only one who made good movies, up until Blade/X-Men was released, Marvel didn't exactly have a greatest track in that regards.

TV movies, TV series (both limited by budgets and technology of the day), a shelved project (FF 1994), and that awful 1990 Captain America movie.

I was a DC kid growing up so it's been difficult to watch DC screw up so badly with its big budget films. As we know, it seems WB/DC can only make Batman films - and has (at least since Reeves' Superman) wrongly thought it should add Batman and Gotham grimness to everything outside Batman.

Here's hoping the new Gunn-led DC-verse can *finally* get the cinematic universe on some positive track.

DC's TV shows like Justice League Unlimited and Teen Titans remain among the best superhero shows ever made. Why they can't seem to get that same level of quality and writing in their films is a Class 101 of mismanagement by a bunch of corporate suits at the WB who seem to have ZERO idea how to run creative.

That all said, I want the Gunn-verse to succeed because DC has such an amazing history and awesome characters. I don't want DC to fall into Disney's hands, either. There's already a complete lack of diverse movie-making in this industry; further consolidation of creative is the easiest way to destroy it all.
