Super annoying and disingenuous way to do business but thats what they do. They stagger them to try and get double dips. |

In HERE? Is that illegal?
Errr... it's some artwork to show people what we're likely getting as it's the artwork for Germany for the Blu-ray. When the 4K artwork arrives we can all look at it together kumbaya. |

It was an entertaining movie but stretched the premise to its breaking point. At times it felt like Fargeat was concerned she would never make a movie again, so she isn't going to cut a damn thing. I can excuse how derivative it is because it pilfers from movies I love that I feel rarely get to the big screen anymore.
Also, I appreciated the many, many derrière shots. I'll appreciate them at home as well when this gets released. |

I am definitely buying this on 4K when it comes out on digital.
Yes, there were a few times I thought "Okay, my stomach and eyes are being tested right now," but the film also has an over-the-top quality to the gore in the last title card sequence. For people complaining the film overstayed its welcome, a friend of mine thought something similar, but I truly was never bored. The scenes with the apartment looking like an absolute mess after Sue leaves her trash/snacks speaks to the impulsivity and careless that comes with being younger. I thought the film did a brilliant job showing the different maturity and life experiences between Elisabeth and Sue and some interesting mother-daughter dynamics, despite Sue and Elisabeth having the same consciousness. I also like how the entire time Elisabeth is doing this, the Hollywood star is desecrated from the first second we see it, showing that beauty/youth fades and is truly that ephemeral, and what's the point of living up to impossible beauty standards if they'll just be gone one day, and that one day will be come sooner than later. Easily a 5/5 movie for me, and I personally did not care for the director's previous movie Revenge, even though I can appreciate how expertly made it was. |
