Germany Talk to the Dead aka Tôku tu za deddo 3D Blu-ray (2013) [Region B Locked]

So, this has only been released in Germany as both a 2D and 3D version.

I was given a brand new 2D copy today for nothing still shrinkwrapped from someone who had ordered the 3D release and received this one from Amazon. He had been refunded and they have sent the 3D release.

The 2D disc actually has the 3D version included also, it just isn't advertised on the box or disc like it is on the 3D release.

Anyway, not had time to check it out but likely will do so eventually. It's just one of those cheap German conversions, but thought this info would come in handy for future buyers as there is a significant price difference between the two releases (the 2D can be had for pennies on Marketplace).

Also, although not listed at Amazon, English subtitles are included.

They release a lot of terrible horror films in substandard 3D on Blu in Germany. Not sure what this information is good for until you watch the film and share with us what it's like and what the 3D is like. The fact that this Blu-Ray exists in Germany is in itself not particularely useful to anybody. I checked on Amazon.de and it got one and two star user reviews only.

I'm simply making people aware that the cheaper 2D disc also includes the 3D version and has English subtitles (neither of which are advertised). Is that not what a forum is about, to discuss the releases and inform other people of information pertaining to them? Obviously I will post my thoughts on the 3D when I get around to watching it, which could be some time.

Thanks for the info Sam. Even if I may not buy it, it's nice to hear the range of 3D content on the market. Keep us updated if you get to check it out. Thanks.

Watching this right now. I picked it up because I read a review on Amazon.de that said it was natively shot 3D, but so far it looks like a conversion to me (and not a great one, though not nearly as bad as some of the German autoconversions). Feeling pretty disappointed, but I'm going to try to get further in, hoping it improves. The picture is very dark which isn't helping. Does anyone else know whether or not this is a conversion?

I'd take the word of the person who started this thread:

Bottom line: All 3D movies available in Germany that aren't autoconversions (as well as some that are) are listed here: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=287862

If you find a movie that isn't listed, it is almost certainly a worthless autoconversion. Either that or it's not English-friendly, in which case it will be listed here: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=302145.

At this point it's a safe bet that there are no undiscovered 3D treasures only available in Germany.
