It’s the first comet to buzz the planet in 65 million years, and everyone seems to be celebrating its imminent arrival. Everyone, that is, except Regina Belmont (Catherine Mary Stewart, The Last Starfighter) and her younger sister Samantha (Kelli Maroney, Chopping Mall), two Valley Girls who care more about fashion trends than the celestial phenomenon. But upon daybreak, when the girls discover that they’re the only residents of Los Angeles whom the comet hasn’t vaporized or turned into a zombie, they do what all good Valley Girls do…they go shopping! But when their day of malling threatens to become a day of mauling, these gals flee with killer zombies and blood-seeking scientists in hot pursuit!

If I did the math correctly my movie budget for August and September comes out to $7629.98 so far.

I realize that this wasn't particularly popular or a big money maker back in the day, but it holds a special place for me and I am not really sure why. I just enjoy the campiness I guess.

Just part of stuff I found, so it's in the rumor stage now. I think it's a very strong contender for October.

Yeah, there is just something about it and all the 80s-ness of it. (Although $14mil on sub $1mil budget isn't too bad. Made a bit more than Children Of The Corn. Surprisingly, The Terminator only made a touch over twice as much. Super famous Sixteen Candles only made like 50% more. So it did reasonably well for itself. And has become a pretty solid cult hit.)

Apparently it was also the inspiration for Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

Day one! My 4K upgrade wishlist is being shaved down at a rapid pace between this and The Prophecy trilogy!

Well, there's another seemingly random and unpopular film that I never thought I'd see on UHD-BD. This is an MGM-controlled (Amazon) piece of content, so it might be a sign that Amazon has begun tapping the keg of MGM's film library for UHD catalog material to add to Prime Video, which they can also license out to companies like Shout/Scream/Whoever for disc release.

It was a really strong seller for SF, and they seem to be upgrading the bulk of their Collector's Editions to 4K, so I think it was only a matter of time for this one.

I wasn't the biggest fan of this movie when I watched it a couple years ago but for some reason the ending just stuck with me. Can't wait to upgrade!

With this announcement, I think it’s a safe bet they also give us a Ninja 3 4K UHD

Some music for this momentous announcement:

I bought the blu-ray a few years ago. I watched it, but didn’t really care for it like I thought I would. I’ll probably skip this one, unless upon next watching I feel differently. Good for those that truly love the movie (as I’m a fan of any movie getting a 4K upgrade).

A welcome announcement. I still only have my VHS & DVD. I kinda like when that scenario plays out, as I feel better about upgrading. I will be buying this!
