Very nice to see that Paramount is finally putting out more catalog titles. Rio Lobo is one of John Wayne's most underrated films. The train sequence at the beginning is incredible!

Noe Lionsgate needs to release Rio Grande, so we can have the complete John Wayne "Rio Trilogy" (Rio Bravo, Rio Grande, Rio Lobo) on blu"!

Let's hope it doesn't get so badly botched up as RIO BRAVO.

yeah Rio Bravo looks WAY too digitized.
It was such an early release; I really wish Warner would redo it, but, of course, the odds are very low for that.
This is a Paramount release which hopefully will look similar to True Grit, which was not a bad disc by any means imo.

think you are confusing this, its not the Rio Trilogy, Rio Bravo, Rio Lobo and El Darado are all Howard Hawks/John Wayne, and as even Hawks joked about, they liked the movie so muche that basicaly the made it three times.

the trilogy is John Fords Cavalry Trilogy, which was Fort Apache, She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, both owned by WB, and Rio Grande which is a Republic title currently in the hands of Lionsgate, who has yet to release anything pre 1970

I'm a little upset Paramount is skipping EL DORADO which would complete my collection nicely.

I meant it as a joke, life's to short to take things so seriously!

It was because John Wayne had three GREAT films with the word Rio in the title, I those films are not a true trilogy as well.

I WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE THEM ALL ON BLU, MANY WILL AGREE ON THAT!

BTTF Trilogy just keeps dropping in price, 10 bucks is a great deal for Big Jake & Rio Lobo, and only for a limited time. I watched Big Jake last night and it looks & sounds terrific.

I picked up Once Upon a Time in the West for $10 today. Both Rio Lobo & Big Jake look good for their age.

Another catalog title with a very good transfer. A notch below Big Jake, but very satisfying. Well worth the $10 target price and easily a newer HD master.
