Hoping Universal are able to license the US extras (making of/commentary) from Lionsgate but their track record with A24 releases suggests otherwise

The placeholder release date if for Jan 1st 2030!

Damn. I was counting on the UK to hook us up with a 4K UHD disc.

Thank god, I honestly thought Universal would skip out on the release. Looking forward to picking it up.

I've only listened to some of the commentary but there are a few gaps of silence bit hopefully it gets better. The making of is great though, I had no idea they made it that way.

Why would they. it just came out later in the UK in theaters. But it was always set to be released.

Universal have been very hit and miss with their releases lately, films like Sorry To Bother You, Thoroughbreds and even Upgrade didn’t get Blu-ray releases by them, obviously the latter got one through Second Sight. It even looks like The Last Black Man in San Francisco is going straight to digital.

Just found out that The Light Cinema won't be able to screen the film due to "distribution deals" (same with Queen & Slim) but thankfully my local Showroom Cinema is able to screen it so I'm going to watch it tonight. Can't wait and the trailers I saw months ago were mostly spoiler-free from what I can gather.

Saw this a while ago at an advanced screening with a Robert Eggers QnA after, one of my cinema highlights of 2019. Absolutely picking up this BR, fingers crossed for a commentary...

Audio commentary version was classified by the BBFC in early January:

As were the deleted scenes and making-of:

My local ODEON has now added this to their schedule a week late, except now there’s no sign of Parasite!

Just seen this and it's brilliant - felt like Eraserhead era Lynch meets Bergman but with Eggers own sense of style coming out on top. I can't believe such an out there film has been allowed such a decent cinema run but I'm glad it has.

There's so much depth and symbolism that I can't wait to give this another watch - the moment the BD is released as I'm sure there's some stuff I missed.

Fair play Eggers.

Yeah, The Light cinema just managed to add it a week later, but regardless I found Showroom to be the right experience for this sort of film.

I know it’s not going to happen but I wish the BD would include the script inside - it really is fantastic, so many memorable lines.

A24 released some overpriced scriptbooks paired with frames/essay/interview for a couple of their films so it isn’t outside the realm of possibility they’ll do so in future.

If a PDF is circulating online, I wouldn’t be shocked either.

Hell, maybe PLAIN Archive will take an interest in the film and then publish a scriptbook too!
