Director Sergio Martino (ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK) combines a monster reptile with an all-star EuroCult cast for one of the most outrageously entertaining Italian Jungle Carnage movies of them all, now in UHD for the first time ever: At the opening of a tropical resort, a photographer (Claudio Cassinelli of SLAVE OF THE CANNIBAL GOD), an anthropologist (Barbara Bach of THE SPY WHO LOVED ME) and an arrogant hotelier (Mel Ferrer of EATEN ALIVE!) are besieged by hostile natives, obnoxious tourists and a gargantuan river beast that intends to devour them all. Street date = Release date. If you order it direct from Severin, then they expect to start shipping them out in early April...although that can always get delayed.

It's fookin' awesome that Severin rolls out The Great Alligator on 4k uhd without even blinking or flinching, yet WB hasn't rolled out NOES on 4k disc as it "might not sell enough copies to make a profit"

What are everyone's thoughts on this disc? Is it worth the double dip or no? Feature wise, it's all recycled content, just re-edited, correct?

This is one of those situations where I almost want to get the movie just for the cover alone. But that would be unwise. How's the actual movie?

If you dig all the classic cheese '70s/'80s Itali-trash cannibal/jungle/adventure flicks such as Jungle Holocaust, Slave of the Cannibal God, Eaten Alive!, Cut and Run, etc. etc., it's practically a shoe-in. It helps that the 4k uhd smokes the old blu ray, and the title is unlikely to roll out on uhd from another boutique anytime soon, making this an even easier decision.
