John Fusco the writer behind Young Guns and it’s sequel just posted on his twitter:

Lionsgate Home Entertainment showed up at my hideaway writer’s cabin yesterday to interview me for a new #youngguns special release. Pleased to announce that a brand new 4K, super Dolby special edition of GUNS I & 2 w/ extras is in the works.

Secrets will be revealed

Oh man! Just the other day I was thinking yet again that hopefully the original will be getting it's desperately needed new scan eventually.

If Lionsgate is keeping with anniversary dates, Young Guns will turn 35 on August 12th if this is any indicator of when these would come out.

Grabbed the Young Guns II Blu-ray when it came out, but just placed an order for last year’s Umbrella (Australian) Young Guns on Monday after ditching that original Lionsgate disc ages ago. I got my shipping notification for that one today. You’re welcome everyone.

Hope this is real as I never bought the first Young Guns Blu-ray because of how bad the PQ is.

Maybe Fusco mis-understood. He was being interviewed for only Young Guns. Lionsgate does not have distribution rights for Young Guns II. It is a Morgan Creek title being distributed by Sony.

Young Guns on uhd could be one of the biggest blu to 4k pq jumps yet.

Like the original Predator. It takes until the UHD format for Young Guns to receive a good transfer.
