I love horror movies and good pq. so which one looks the best?so far its house of 1000 for me.Imready to buy a demo horror,so help me out

House of 1000 Corpses without a doubt. I was also really impressed with Vacancy, and although it has recieved alot of slack from differing from John Carpenters vision, I think that Halloween has one of the best transfers out there for a catalouge release. OH wait forgot about The Shining.

I watched Identity the other night and while it looked good,i didnt think it looked as good as the reviews

Ijust bought the descent and cant wait to watch it.Maybe i need to go back and watch halloween again because i wasnt that impressed the first time i watched it especially the dark scenes

The Descent. Make sure you have women next to you on your couch, surround speakers, and that it's nighttime.

I'm pleased to see people recommending The Descent. I found it to be an excellent horror movie.

The Fountain could qualify. That movie has great PQ, but the movie itself is horror-fying.

Just kidding. I actually find The Fountain to be an amazingly DEEP story (although, somewhat confusing on first view).

Going to add my 2 cents as well, The Descent is a great movie.

I agree with most of the responses here. I'd add Saw 3 & 4 to the list. The best PQ is probably The Descent. Just make sure to watch the unrated version (with the original & much better ending) and to watch at night. This BD has some of the best dark scenes I've seen to date. And if you have a good surround sound system, the 6.1 PCM track is as good as it gets!

I agree with the posts above, The Descent is a very nice surprise. Saw IV has good PQ, but the movies is "horrible" as in it SUCKS.

Halloween is my number 1 choice followed by The Shinning. Hopefully will get a nice selection for this upcoming halloween season.

I agree with alot already listed But I also thought the Underworld's looked pretty good. And I hear they're making a third installment (Rise of the Lycans)

Halloween was great. And when you think about how old it is (and just look at the old grainy trailer they included on the disc), Halloween reigns supreme.
