Default Mega Man: The Complete Series (SD on BD)

Quote:
Crunchyroll is the first retailer to offer pre-orders, with more outlets expected soon. The set is scheduled to ship on October 28 for $49.95 ($39.96 via Crunchyroll). The single disc contains all 27 episodes in SD format along with a host of new features not included in the previous DVD release. Highlights include a high-resolution version of the original “anime” pitch, a new high-quality transfer of the first episode, galleries of rare art and production materials, promotional content, episode commentary by Mega Man himself, Ian James Corlett, and more.

All 27 episodes presented in Standard Definition
A newly restored version of episode 1 sourced from the original master, presented at its proper speed—a format not seen in decades.
Bonus materials include:
A new scan of the original "anime" pitch pilot
Hi-res scans of the show's original press kit
TV commercials
A toy commercial
Art and marketing galleries
Brand-new, interactive menus
Complete scans of the series bible
All-new commentary with Ian James Corlett, the voice of Mega Man!

I hate when they get me to buy just for the extras. The source page has links of previews to the galleries and bible.

I feel like I don't really go for these sort of nostalgia buys from the era of my childhood when I watched this (I usually end up feeling like it is never as good as I remembered it, and would rather have the happy childhood memories), but they sure got me on this one. Very excited for the commentary, particularly.

I wish at least half the animated shows I liked from the 80's and 90's got blu ray love. I am rarely disappointed with nostalgia for older shows/movies.

This was a fun show growing up back in the '90s, I was a huge Mega Man fan I believe at the time I had Mega Man 7 and Mega Man X on the super nes when the show was airing on syndicated television. I missed out on the previous release so I will definitely be picking this one up. Along with the Double Dragon animated series (1994) as well.

It is interesting overall that they went with the final design of mega Man that we ended up with compared to his traditional video game counterpart *Short/Stocky* (Mega Man: Upon a Star)

'Mega X' is my favorite episode.
