I don't know about the used TV market today, you would be looking at sets that are 10+ years old and some with a lot of wear and tear to take into consideration, its a Buy at your own risk deal. I recommend Projectors, you can start here at projectorcentral.com. If you like VR headsets, PSVR 1 only works with PS4 for 3D playback, PSVR 1 or PSVR 2 + PS5 combination has no 3D capabilities. You can use a PC and a meta quest as well but it will require you converting disks into a certain extension file (like mkv) + software for playback. Apple vision Pro headset is another option (has a lot of exclusive 3D content!) but yet unavailable in most countries.

As mentioned the PS3-PS4 can do Blu-Ray 3D for a compatible display device, the PS4 can play directly on a PSVR1. Meta Quest 3[s] can play as well but ideally requires a file server to stream from and programs like 4XVR to simulate watching in a theatre (sort of) from ISO/MKV/3D media files.
TV wise the best has always been the LG 2016 OLED TVs (C6, E6 or G6) however they are rare to find now, much less without any burn-in or 3D filter alignment issues. A non-OLED LG TV from 2014-2016 can also work however the contrast is significantly worse, something like a cheap 3D capable LB series can work, but 4K is preferred to avoid visual artifacts from FHD Passive 3D. Active TV's (Sony, Samsung) are hit and miss due to 3D glasses being expensive and can cause issues with shutter speeds. Projector wise AWOL and Valerion do good quality 3D but are quite expensive new. Epson got out of 3D with the 5050/6050 models but you can grab them cheap nowadays being quite a few years old. Optoma still does 3D as well as Benq but YMMV. I think if you just wanted to experiment in 3D getting the Meta Quest 3 is the best option as it has a lot more utility besides just 3D movies (VR gaming, virtual desktops, linking to a PC for converted VR games, etc). It's not the same as a projector or TV but gives you the experience for a low cost and if it's not for you it's possible to on-sell or move or other apps. If you happened to have a PSVR2 you can link it to a PC for a similar (wired) VR experience. |
