Talking How do you prefer box set packaging?

When it comes to the multi-disk box sets, I prefer them to all be in one case. I personally bought the Spider-Man Trilogy from Target because I liked the fact they were all in one case. I have put off buying the Resident Evil Trilogy and Ocean's 11 - 13 because they come in separate cases and in a box. To me, these boxes do not look right with the rest of my blu-ray collection. I hope in the future they continue to release box sets in this manner like the television box sets and the Die Hard Collection.

Let me know your opinions on this issue.

I think a lot of people just have problems with the movies that will continue to have sequals like the Spiderman movies. They dont want the one box set, and then buy SM4, 5, etc. in single cases. Really it just depends on your level of OCD. I kind of like the Target version as well, but it wouldnt matter too much for me. I'll still buy the rest of the movies as theyre released.

(Except for that Harry Potter Spec. ed. box set. That just doesnt fit at all. The discs come in sleeves :shudders: )

I go out of my way to make sure I have seprate cases, I bought all Die Hards seprate and the Harry Potters. I just wish my BBC Planet Earth set was in seperate cases like the discovery version.

I suppose you could always try to find someone that's willing to send you the single cases for your box set case.

I could just buy individual cases and print cover art, but It doesnt really bother me that much.

However If I had the choice to buy them in single cases I would.

I like single cases better. Except for TV shows, it is nice to have each season in its own case, but for movies I like single cases, and then just ditch the box that holds them all.

I also do this I ditched the RE trilogy and the Spider-man trilogy boxes I just wish DVDspot had separate dvd links for the RE trilogy like they do for the Spider-man trilogy

I like the box sets that have the discs in sperate cases cause you can just take em out and put the boxes aside, or like the Die Hard set in one thicker box because they tend to blend in nicely with a collection. The one thing I cant stand is the stupid giant "suitcase" thingy that Harry Potter came in... its such a pain to get anything in and out, and it looks so out of place.

I prefer singles. I bought the Die Hard box and immediately regretted it . . . So I got some cases and printed out artwork. Big pain in the ass finding the artwork and getting it to print properly . . . should have just bought the singles. I bought the Harry Potter's individually too. I had no use for the box or the little extras it came with, and I wanted the regular cases.

For completed movie sets, I don't mind one case. For things like harry potter where more are coming I think it would be too weird to have 5 in 1 case and 2 in seperate cases.

For season sets - I just like them slim. Whatever way they can get them as slim as possible without making the discs too hard to get at is what I want. I love the doubled sided slim dvd cases they starts to use recently. Makes a 6 disc set take up the room of only 2 regular dvd cases - awesome space savings.

I haven't really been in a position where I had to choose but I'd say I like them in separate cases.

I prefer each movie to have it's own case. If it is a set I don't mind if it comes in a box such as Spiderman and Resident Evil. The bigger single box, such as for Die Hard, is my second choice. The thing I don't like is the Discovery Atlas programs came in these cardboard type boxes that are taller then the rest of my collection and just don't fit in at all. I want everything to look like it goes together, a few minor variations in case thickness is ok as long as it maintains an overall uniform appearance. I can take Resident Evil and Spiderman movies out if I so choose and I can deal with Die hard, but there is nothing I can do with the Discovery Atlas boxes. I am also a little OCD in that my movies have to be in alphabetical order, so I can't even move my Discovery Atlas titles to the end as that would bug me more then the cases not lining up. I may have to buy a few empty cases and print up cover art for them.

definitely singles. i have a DVD/BD rack in my tv console, that has the metal grooves which allows me to place the cases on their sides and flip through them. they don't fit "boxed sets" so this would not be an option for me.

Single box, even if thicker. Wish I bought my Spider-Man trilogy like this. All these movies add up. I need the space!

We need poll.

I do not care if it is singl or multiple, so long as they are the blue plastic cases. I passed on Close Incounters because it is in a diffrent style case, I want uniformity. I have the Spiderman collection in the single case because it was cheaper, the same for Die Hard collection, but I only did it this way because it WAS cheaper.

I like single cases or cases like the Blade Runner collection. I hate box sets with a passion.

You don't have to. If you take out the interactive game and the bookmark holder it holds 2 additional blu cases quite well.

What I'm hoping is that they'll print packaging for 6 and 7 that will match as a mailaway offer

That's a shame - that disc is SOOO worth having and any aesthetic reasons come far behind the quality of that release.
