It's just been too quite to make any assumptions. I said 2Q of 2008, but now I wonder if I made the right choice.

Paramount doesn't want to give back much, if any, of those millions of dollars to Toshiba. I will predict Paramount being dead last in the conversion to BD and Transformers, the movie I most wanted, will be the last available movie I get my hands on.

Sigh, the frustration.

Remember that Paramount already has the Blu-ray infrastructure in place and could switch to Blu-ray production mode much quicker than Universal(whom insiders say is woefully unprepared for Blu-ray). As I said before we will see new Paramount BDs on shelves by Q3 2008.

I nearly put Q4 2008, but after the BB announcement I put Q2.

Expect big announcements from the studios and hardware makers over the next few weeks.

Announcement late Q1 or early Q2 with titles shipping sometime Q3. They will want to be on-board for the 2008 holiday season.

I think you did.

Whatever kibbles and bits they're getting from Toshiba and Microsoft, they can earn twice as fast by releasing their library on Blu.
