Default Ratatouille Set Up on a PS3

Alright, so after getting the whole 24fps thing fixed in that one firmware upgrade, I discovered a new problem. I cannot access the Audio/Video Set Up feature on Ratatouille. It's odd, I can select it, and then nothing happens. It doesn't get locked up or anything, I can still hit menu to exit it, but all I get is a black screen. If I hit display, it looks like it's trying to play Title 5, but that's all it does. Nothing else. Anyone else having this issue?

What firmware are you running on the S1.

It's actually on the PS3 that I'm having the problem. The S1 works fine though.

I just popped in the disc in my PS3 and noticed it too. I have no problems with the DMP-BD30 though. You can call Disney at 800-723-4763. Hopefully, they'll know what's going on.

EDIT: You can also try Sony support: 800-345-7669.

Sweeeeet, well sorta.. I am just glad I am not the only one having the problem. Last time I had problems only a select few people were having the same issues (only because only a select few people were actually using 1080/24p). I'll deffinately give them a call tomorrow and let them know.

Actually the PS3 is an AMAZING machine. It seems the only things I have had problems with are the Disney titles. Which were solved. Had I not went to see if my brightness was set up right, I wouldn't have even known there was a problem. But seriously, I do love my PS3.

I just tried playing Rataouille on PS3 80GB, I was able to go thru the complete audio/video setup without any problems.

Tried on my 60 GB PS3. Everything runs smoothly and the loading time is short.

It worked fine on my 40 gig PS3 as well, but I believe it was before the most recent firmware upgrades. I plan on buying this movie very soon, and will test it again when I get it.

But how many of you are using 1080p/24fps? That's where the problems came in the last time.

In know, I know. I just thought I'd throw that thought out there because everyone's so sensitized to certain players here. It's funny to watch the slams when a player gets bashed. This one sucks and that one sucks! This one plays TrueHD and this one plays with my wife! Well, maybe no the wife thing, but you got the picture.

There is so much feces on the walls on these forums it would take a backhoe to scrap it off. It's fun to watch. I sling a little too... DOH!

Hello there,

Can the owners experiencing this problem try entering the #1 via the keypad menu aftering initiating the A/V setup?

regards,

Rod

I have a 60GB PS3 (firmware 2.1) and had exactly the same problem. Pressing 1 on my Sony remote worked to remedy the problem - good suggestion.

I've just bought the UK version of Ratatouille, and this has exactly the same problem (blank screen when selecting Setup->Audio/Video Set Up) on my 60GB PS3.

Pressing #1 via the keypad does indeed fix the problem (but why does it ?)
This is with the latest version of the firmware - 2.10

I can also confirm that this problem only occurs when 1080p 24 Hz output mode is enabled on the PS3.

Very strange.

Liz

Not getting the problem with my setup. I have a 80GB PS3 with version 2.10 firmware. Have it connected directly to my TV via HDMI in 1080p/24 mode.
