Thumbs up ""NBA 2K7 Review - The best basketball game just got better." IGN "

Quote:
"It can be tricky to make a good game even better. If you're trying to improve on the best there is, it's much harder. Take NBA 2K7, for example. Easily the best basketball title released this year (and arguably of recent years as well), NBA 2K7 upped the gameplay, the AI and the number of options that players could access. Not really a lot of room for improvement, right? Enter the PS3 version, which provides a new way to fire off free throws and places much more emphasis on the controller and the shot stick."

Nice!

I so wish the NFL hadn't been allowed to have this unfair exclusivity with EA. That kind of thing just shouldn't be allowed at all.

I would die to have an NFL2k7 right now.

2k owns EA sports.

OT and unrelated to the above two:

No excuse for the PS3 version of RAW vs. SD 2007 to be cancelled. Are they kidding? Like they weren't going to sell a nice number of games for all the PS3's that went out?! All they had to was port the 360 version directly!

I once was a loyal fan of EASports NBA Live but after the past few year of poor gameplay and graphics I decided to switch to the NBA2K title. I must admit the graphics for the PS2 version was a lot better than Live. Thou I did experience some bugs with the gameplay it wasn't enough to sway my decision. I think most NBA Live fans are fed up with what EASports has been putting out but when you're use to the controls being one way it's hard to switch to another game. I'll have to buy NBA2K7 for PS3...I've heard nothing but great things about it.

As far as 2K owning EASports...I wouldn't go that far. Madden was and is by far the best NFL game out. Thou I was extremely disappointed by what they release for the PS3. Looks exactly like the 360 version that I hate. I think I'm going to trade it in for NBA2K7. Hopefully Madden 2008 will take full advantage of what the PS3 has to offer.

Hopefully Madden 08 will be better.
There's no icons for picking plays so you have to hover over the play and select it - your opponent knows exactly what play you're selecting.
Does this seem like a major oversight or is there a setting to bring up the buttons for play selection?

WOW.. i cant believe this. I could see this with the wii version, if you had to aim at the play, but on the ps3 and 360 its like this. thats just crazy....

I would. Every sports game out, 2k is appreciably better now.

It's the ONLY one out!

And the 2k football games had Madden beat during several years or at least pretty damned close.

Madden's been cruise controlling for years. There have been years I skip it outright. This year's hasn't impressed me that much, either.

If you buy the next gen version of Madden on either 360 or PS3, sure you get decent gameplay, great visuals and audio, but you get a set of features that go back to the early 90's.

So much Franchise or Owner's mode...

The Superstar mode is almost unplayable outright at most positions because of the funky camera angles.

For me, NCAA is the best football game out, by far. NCAA has owned Madden for years now, at least for me.

I wish they had ported NCAA 2007 to the PS3. Not sure why they didn't.

That would be a wise move.

I suspect it will. It'll be interesting to see if 2k's and Midway's games light a fire under EA's ass next year, NFL or not.

This is another skip year for me as far as Madden is concerned.

That Madden game is not worth $60 at all.
