Default Help with Buying new TV

Hello, I am frequently on here buying blu-rays and reading about them. But I really need a 1080p LCD or Plasma. I want to know how the community feels on the LCD and Plasma debate and also Which LCD or Plasma to get. I'm looking around the $0-$1300 mark. Around 37"-50". I am a college student and this will be in my dorm room. I already have a PS3, blu-rays, ps3 games, and an HDMI cable. So can you help me? Please post links, and help me pick out my HDTV and when the best time to buy it will be. I'm looking for around the summer. Can i get old models on clearance then for the new models coming out?

( sorry if i rambled, but i have alot on my mind...)

I will have a new pole every 2-3 days. For size, lcd/plasma, when to buy, etc.

I'm engaged, and will have a single room next year...
