Default Die Hard 2 Audio issues?

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=942454

According to this, the audio track on Die Hard 2 is not, in fact, DTS-HDMA. Anybody have any light to shed on this?

I own Die Hard 1,3, and 4. I thought 2 sucked. So nope, can't shed any light. Not like I have the audio equipment to do so anyway.

I have a PS/3 so DTS MA can't be used yet. I watched Die Hard 2 and thought I was getting the DTS Core. Sounded OK if you are expecting normal DTS.

If you read the whole thread (the one you linked to) there does appear to be a problem. The thread gives 1-888-223-2FOX as a customer support line where they seem to have confirmed the problem.

I hope Fox issues a fix before the PS/3 supports DTS MA or a lot of people will be upset.

The people at AVS are correct. Fox screwed up the DTS-HD MA track on Die Hard 2 on every copy released so far in the U.S. The core DTS track still plays fine but currently you can't hear the full lossless soundtrack unless you have the Australian BD version. Fox apparently knows about this issue but has not issued any statements about it except they're "looking into it". Maybe someone could pass something about this to Bill Hunt or one of the other insiders to make this more well-known. The Blu-ray has been out awhile now and I hope they offer replacements soon.
