Default Star Wars: The Clone Wars

So, I'm excited for this new tv show in the fall! With a new partnership with WB, maybe we'll see some blu-ray releases in 2009?

I have a quick question for those of you who are following this Clone Wars movie, is this comprised of the first 3 episodes of the new show or is it an entire different thing which will lead into the show?

And what about those animated Clone Wars DVDs that came out before Episode III hit the theaters? Do they have anything to do with the new WB movie?

I can answer that one! They're a whole different collection of stories that might connect with the new one, but are just a different series.

Movie immediately precedes the timeline of the series. Having had two seasons of animated clone wars already, I think the theatrical grosses will disappoint. I will definitely be there for the tv series though. If only the movies were as good as the cartoons... SIGH.

I second that! General Greivous was AMAZING in the series and kicked butt, but in Ep III he barely had any action (due to his injury in the series).

I don't like the design of the series. I loved the animated Clone Wars series. I really enjoy Genndy Tartakovsky's style of animation, very minimalist, very elegant.

The partnership with Warner will not make a difference as to when anything Star Wars is released on Blu-ray. That is solely up to George Lucas and Lucasfilm. Warner is merely the distributor and I believe this deal only covers the new "Clone Wars" series.

I just hate the colours of the new clone wars. Purple , lime greens are just yukky I loved the nice dark blues, deep reds and gost gray(space ships) of the old movies.Lucas seems to focus on the stuff I was not interested in in ep 1 2 . 3 was a lot better I just can.t wait for the blurays.

It covers the whole span of the Clone Wars. I'm going to see this in theatres and then maybe watch it on TV.

He was never injured. Obi-wan was just that good. Grevious' coughing was part of his character. It was supposed to show that he was still human. The blow he took from Mace Windu in the cartoon series was just a way to explain it, but never really happened.

With all respects to Obi-wan's skill, I don't believe so. The show had it happen so it could explain WHY he is coughing. Also in the prequel book "Labyrinth of Evil", Mace Windu injures him again but not in the same way as the cartoon. George Lucas could have taken out the whole cough part and just showed his organs in his fight seen, but the idea behind the cough is to show how vulnerable he is when he has an internal injury (besides, if he didn't have the cough Lucas wouldn't be able to pull off his fight scenes properly )

Ok so around what point in time between episodes 2 and 3 does the upcoming clone wars movie take place? I don't know if you tried to answer above but that doesn't make sense. I know anakin has a padwan making me think he is a Jedi night, making me think it takes place sometime during the second cartoon clone wars movie

That would be correct. Asajj Ventress has already been introduced and later on she scars Anakin in a fight not seen in the second cartoon. In this new one, Anakin's braid is gone and his scar isn't there yet.

Yup! Same here! This is exciting, and I can't wait to see this in the theater. Can't wait for the live action SW series in 2010 either.

Ya, that series seems very interesting by focusing on smaller characters and others (like BOBA FETT) between Ep III and IV. Sadly, Lucas said the show won't feature Vader, Palpatine or any Jedi characters (i was looking foward to the other Jedi!)

From the trailer... I dislike the animation and the dialogue appears to be extremely simplistic so yeah looks more like a kid's movie. Will skip it here.
