They've been hiring for this project for a while now so the news didn't surprise me. It's only natural they try and push out another one and get more use out of the engine (ala OoT/MM). I just didn't expect to see it announced in an official capacity yet.

We have speculated that BotW sequel development would be much faster, but I didn't expect to see anything from the game until next year. Nintendo don't make a habit of showing things too far out with some exceptions of course (Bayonetta 3 anyone?), so that makes me think we'll get this game in the next 18 months or so.

I think we could see this next holiday Diesel. Big question is what hits shelves first. This or Prime 4? This has been in sustained development longer. Prime 4 will be the Nintendo cross gen game they seem to be doing lately. |

I think Prime will be Q2 2021; I would agree with this being Holiday 2020.
Now...is this the Zelda project that Monolith were hiring for or are they working on their own project? Nintendo did say they want a Zelda game related every year. I'm inclined to think it is this though. |

Make your fatigue meter last longer from the get go. That got so annoying.

This was the reveal for me out of Nintendo's E3 Direct. Super pumped for this, as the original is probably my favorite game of all time.
I wonder how they're going to change up the main overworld. I'm hoping that since in the last game Hyrule was all in ruins, now life will have come back and there will be more towns and people. The big question is will Zelda be playable this time around? I've heard a lot of excitement about that possibility. The director was asked about it at E3 and he didn't confirm or deny anything. |

As cool as it was to get this reveal, I honestly would've preferred a Metroid Prime 4 teaser or Metroid Prime Trilogy Remaster reveal. The first Breath of Wild is still so fresh on my mind, plus we have Link's Awakening and that Hyrule game is coming this year. I'm good on Zelda stuff for a while!

I don't think they have anything at all to show of Metroid 4 yet. I know Nintendo are pretty relaxed about what they reveal at E3, they're just as happy holding stuff for random Directs and it probably gets them just as much publicity doing it that way. Plus they are supposed to be releasing some new model Switch so maybe they are saving some stuff for later in the year?

Good interview with Aonuma. They're making this sequel because they had too many idea for dlc.
