Question Martin Freeman should play Bilbo Baggins in upcoming "Hobbit" movie!

After seeing him on BBC's "The Office" (as Tim Canterbury) and in the film "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" (as Arthur Dent), I believe that Martin Freeman is a strong contender to play Bilbo Baggins in "The Hobbit" for 2010! He certainly looks the part, and I believe he can play the part! What do you all think?!

http://imdb.com/name/nm0293509/

just to clear things up for anyone who doesn't know who that is.

As I said before.. interesting, but I have no suggestions for Bilbo (as the actors I would choose are too old for the role now)

Why not Ian Holm from LOTR? How much earlier was the Hobbit set before LOTR? Makeup can work wonders...

Due to the power of the Ring Bilbo was not supposed to age at all between the time of the Hobbit and FotR... therefore I see no real reason why Ian Holm should NOT play the part...

First off, just to make him took half way decent in LotR, he needed a ton of makeup and wires, which barely stayed in place for the 30 second scene he was in. It is impossible for him to do this for an entire movie. He does not look Frodo's age at all, for that is the age that Frodo decided to start his adventure as well. They should look the same age and hobbits do not age as fast as humans, Bilbo even less so because of the ring. When you see him in end of the movie, he is suppose to be around 140 (?I forget the exact age). Either way, he is 111 on his birthday, and i don't know anyone 100+ that looks that young.
So they need a new, younger actor.
They have already said they will not use Ian Holmes for Biblo anyways.

Well I hate when film series switch actors so I would be willing to suspend my disbelief in regards to Ian Holm's age so the whole series matches up.
