Default Titanic in Dolby (12.1.17)

Looks like AMCs with Dolby are getting Titanic!

https://www.amctheatres.com/movies/t...y-vision-55494

I'll definitely try to catch this. I saw the 3D re-release on the big screen, but Dolby is my favorite theatre experience. Titanic is perfect for the format.

Hopefully this means a UHD release isn't far off.

It's also going to be 3D as well at certain theaters, that's a nice surprise given Dolby Cinema, though since there isn't any mention of it and Cameron didn't do it for T2, I'm guessing no Atmos sound remix.

Not sure I will get to this, as I already saw it theatrically in the initial run and IMAX 3D re-release, it's a very long film for theaters with no intermission, and December 1st has some other stuff I'm interested in (whereas this weekend looks pretty light, other than Justice League which I'm already seeing Thursday night), but it has my interest.

Excellent. Since there's a lack of movies that I want to see or won't show up down here until January, this is something I'm looking forward to seeing on the big screen again.

It's coming in Dolby 3D near me so that's the ticket I'm getting. I, too saw this opening weekend (and several times during its initial run) and the 3D re-release and it still holds up for me. I'm sure Cameron's involved on some level and I am curious if this did get an Atmos remix given it's the film's 20th Anniversary.

AMC Tyson's is denoting this as Dolby Vision 3D - I didn't realize the system was setup as such, the AMC ticket link to this denotes 3D ... hmmm

Missed the 3D version but I might check this out. Never gets old.

No AMC in Canada for a few years now. All locations were sold to the competition. Guess that means Canada isn't getting this.

Is that a reference to Rocky Horror Picture Show?

Showing in 3D too, which is awesome. Apparently Dolby Cinema 3D is a rare thing? Hopefully the listing is accurate, as I want to see it in 3D.

I hate to sound like an idiot ... but what is "Dolby Vision"? That's new to me.

EDIT: I just looked it up and read about it. Still confused! It looks like the color is boosted. Is this really a big difference on screen?

Dolby 3D shows are available near me, but the cheapest morning shows are $23... I missed the 3D revival in 2012 so I'm probably gonna go to this, just wish it were cheaper.

It's a form of High Dynamic Range (HDR) that allows for a wider color gamut, brighter/more vivid colors, and better contrast.

"Dolby Vision uses dynamic metadata to automatically optimize the picture for every screen — frame by frame."

There's a 10 am one here for $17, and the ones after 12 are $25 :/

I was able to watch in 3D a few years back when it was rereleased. You’d think it was natively shot in 3D. Definitely worth watching it with it on the big screen if you have a chance.

Can’t wait to watch it in Dolby Vision though (and re-mixed in Atmos, potentially).

Got really excited when I saw this news, unfortunately there isn't a Dolby Vision theater near me (closest one is Chicago 3 hours away). I would have loved to watch this again in theaters.
