Default Hisense Hits Price/Performance Sweet Spot with New 100” 4K TV

This well be amazing price to have a 2D 144Hz 100 inch 4K TV with a street price of under $10,000. Yes it is not OLED, but still a amazing price for a 100 inch display.

This is off topic a little. But the big question well be how big well the flat panels get? At a certain point it well be more practical to buy a projector. More research needs to be done by installers and the size of the average door in a home. But maybe when the TV gets to be 125 inches, 150 inches, or larger, the TV might be too big to fit in the door to the average home. This is a question that custom installers well have to answer. But there is going to be a point when using a projector for a 150 to 300 inch projection screen well be more practical. Now, if OLED flat panels can be rolled up like a poster then flat panels well be able to be 300 inches or larger and one could walk the very long poster flat panel in the average size door. But roll up OLED panels that are paper thin are at least 10 to 20 years in the future most likely.

“Doug Kern, group marketing director for Hisense USA, walked S&V’s Mark Henninger through the highlights of the company’s new 100-inch 4K TV at CEDIA Expo 2023, which wrapped up over the weekend. The TV boasts a gaming-ready 144-Hz native panel featuring mini-LED backlighting with more than 1,600 local dimming zones and a rated peak brightness of 1500 nits. The “reference” price for the set is $10,000 but Kern says to expect a less-than-five-figure price when it launches in a few weeks.”
