USA The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane (1976) coming from Kino

The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane Blu-ray

Quote:
Growing up can be murder! Unusually bright thirteen-year-old Rynn (two-time Oscar winner Jodie Foster, The Accused, Silence of the Lambs) lives in a big old house with her reclusive father... all alone. Or does she? When Rynn s nosy landlady (Alexis Smith) and a lecherous neighbor (Martin Sheen, Apocalypse Now, Badlands) begin to suspect that this little girl is hiding a dark and dangerous secret, Rynn is determined to preserve her isolated existence at any cost especially if anyone dares to go down in the cellar. A chilling and haunting cult classic, this razor-sharp story of suspense (Albuquerque Journal) also stars Scott Jacoby (Bad Ronald) and stands as a chilling, unforgettable thriller loaded with twists and turns.

This is a terrific little film. I read the book way back then and actually thought Jodie Foster would be perfect for the part, and lo and behold, there it was.

I'm in for this.

It's about time this film saw a blu ray release. I'm glad that Kino picked this up for release. With all of the great titles on their roster this year, Kino will certainly earn my vote for distributor of the year.

Good movie very unnerving. Hope they keep the poster art. can't wait to see it again. Love this classic period of Jodie Foster she holds her own in this, Freaky Friday and Candleshoe and of course Taxi Driver.

Great news. The original poster is indeed very nice. The french one, with a faceless Foster, is even better, though. Kino delivers big time.

Jodie Foster, who is fluent in French, dubbed the French audio for her character. Hopefully the Bluray will include that.

This movie was on Netflix a while back. Never saw it, but I'll have to check if it's still on there.

It's another disc produced for them by Walt Olsen of Scorpion Releasing. I know an interview with Martin Sheen is already in the bag.

Well, TLGWLDTL novel (by Laird Koenig) was superb, and one of creepiest & best thrillers I've read.

The movie with Jodie Foster is well-done, but not nearly as good as the novel. However, still glad this is coming out on Blu.

I heard it was Jodie's sister's butt on display in this movie.

Nice. It seems like a lot of the titles I'm most interested in of theirs are suggested by him (Planet of the Vampires, At the Earth's Core, Land that Time Forgot, Burn Witch Burn, now this). I haven't seen this but have been hearing good things about it for many years.

It wont be for quite some time, as you know the director lives in France, and I am coordinating with him to do an audio commentary over there, so it will be sometime from now and I was hoping to have him come down to L.A to join with Sheen, but I wasnt able to, due to budget constriction (flying someone from France to l.A is not cheap!). I can post the proposed front art I picked, actually its going to be a reversible, pending approval from the studio, but I have no idea how to upload it here. Let me give it a try.

Amazing choices! I hate the DVD cover art, these are beautiful. Will this have a slipbox or slipcover like some Kino releases?

no, but it would be cool to do a slip cover with the faceless Jodie Foster/French poster? But I believe no slipcover for this. But who knows what the future holds. And again, Kino has to wait for approval from the studio on these arts.

Thanks, I will be announcing another one this week, a bit on the fence on this one, as I vowed I was not going to release this until the star of this sci-fi film, a cult icon whom I have enjoyed his work for many decades, participates, and he was going to, but his health has not permitted, which is distressing for we have couple of films he is starring in lined up
