First off, apologies if a thread like this already exists. I poked around and couldn't find one!
Second, prompted by Kino's announcement of Rampage, I was wanting to start a thread for movies that went straight from VHS to Blu-ray or 4k UHD. When Kino put out The Experts a few months back, I realized that there's a lot of stuff I simply haven't heard of because it never came out on DVD, which is the era when I was discovering a lot of films. I'd love to make a list of stuff that was more or less lost but then "saved" with a Blu-ray/4k release, in the hopes of bringing some films to my attention that I've missed. On that note, if there are any movies from the VHS era or before that never had a home video release in any format until they finally came to Blu or 4k, please feel free to list those too! I'm looking more for studio films that had theatrical releases than extremely obscure straight-to-video stuff, but, of course, all are welcome. |
