USA Hardware Wars (1978) (The Star Wars parody)

http://www.amazon.com/Hardware-Wars-...n%3A2650305011

Quote:
The original Star Wars parody is back in amazing High Definition! The film looks better than ever before thanks to a 1080p HD scan and a scene by scene color correction supervised by writer-director Ernie Fosselius. Follow the adventures of Fluke Starbucker, Arty Deco, Ham Salad and the rest of the Red Eye Knights in this spectacle that was light years ahead of it's time. The film is presented pillar boxed.

Additional bonus features include: Disastrous Shorts, a collection of short films by Ernie Fosselius including the famous Hindenburger! Plan 9.1, a tribute to the Ed Wood Jr. classic featuring an all wooden cast! Finally you will also get a historic interview with Ernie Fosselius on Creature Features hosted by Bob Wilkins. PLEASE NOTE all bonus features are presented in Standard Definition as that is what they were created.
A thirteen-minute parody of Star Wars is coming to Blu. Cool.

I hope the packaging is as good as the 30th Anniversary DVD release.

Wasn't this on the Complete Saga? Not saying that this isn't a welcome release, just curious.

^ The short, no.

Incidentally, did NOT see this coming! I'll be surprised if the transfer is really good.

I've only ever seen the "Special Edition" from the late-90s. Would be nice if it included both versions.

Wow! I love this short! I've probably bought it as many times as I did the Original Trilogy. I had the VHS that included Bambi Meets Godzilla, Closet Cases of the Nerd Kind and Porklips Now. I still have the Special Edition VHS and the 30th Anniversary DVD.

I hope the transfer is everything they're saying it is.

Wish we could get 'Troops' and the Pink Five saga on disc (BD please..........)

Never thought any fan films would get permission to be sold, BUT THEN George sold the franchise, and I guess new minds are calling the shots.

Whoopeeeeeeeee !!!

I have seen this countless times in the 80's on HBO. I always enjoyed this short and this isn't a criticism, but it's amazing that Hardware Wars has "a 1080p HD scan and a scene by scene color correction" and the film it's spoofing does not.

Was Troops shot on VHS? And edited VHS-to-VHS? I wonder if the rushes for Troops still exist. If Troops could be re edited digitally it would at least be one generation better. It's a shame that it looks so bad on the copies that float around.

Hilarious short. I hope it's not the awful special edition with the lousy "digital defects". I want the original version. Shame it won't include "Closet Cases of the Nerd Kind" as the original VHS did.

The cover art is pretty blah, although the image of the Wookie Monster chewing on the princess's hair is pretty hilarious. I love this art:

So, my Amazon pre-order hasn't shipped and they aren't taking anymore orders for it. The listing now says Amazon doesn't know when, or even if, they'll ever have it in stock. Was this BD cancelled?

I just emailed the creators about it yesterday but haven't heard back. People are selling them on eBay but perhaps there's a problem with shipments? I dunno I was looking forward to it as well.

Isn't fossilus the creator (writer/director/producer)? Who are these other creators?
