I didn't see an already existing chat here about the show and so here I am with what unfortunately couldn't be a worse message to get a chat about the show started with. Are there any other fans of the show here besides myself? Sadly, one of the twins recently went forward. Go here for the news. My most favorite thing from him and his brother was when they would tell someone about whatever had just happened as if they were reading from a story book.

God bless you and his family always!!!

Holly

P.S. The end.

I have to confess, I actually enjoyed this series, until they started losing the original cast. When they started writing Mary Camden (Jessica Biel) into getting trouble with the law, such as credit card debt and irresponsible behavior, it just seemed like an excuse to get her written off the show. I stopped watching the series after a few seasons.

I hadn't started watching the series until I came across the series on DVD. It was the same way with me with the Gilmore Girls TV series.

The show will be available on Blu-ray (SD) next year in Germany.

Does anyone know if there are English subtitles on this type of release?

Any show that's released on Blu-Ray without actually being in HD is completely pointless.

To be fair, they are fitting 22 episodes per disc. How much shelf space do you realistically want to devote to 7th Heaven?

If it was remastered for HD, I'd definitely buy it. I loved that show as a kid, because unlike so many others it dared to depict a mostly wholesome family on a network that was committed to almost everything else. Even the cast has said over the years, that they were always surprised by the show's success, and its continued legacy.

I saw this more than a few times on tv when it aired. I was not as old as I am right now. I will be 37 years old next year. I remember thinking it was okay entertainment. Sadly, when IMBD Boards still existed i was there several times making fun of the show. I don't know why I did that. I regret i did that.
I just bought the complete series on DVD. I look forward to see it again.

I'm not willing to spend more than $80 for the series.

One episode that really stands out now in my opinion was an episode that was done at the beginning of season six when Simon gives a speech in front of his high school classmates and the first thing that he said to them was that he didn't feel safe at school anymore and it was because a boy in his class had brought a gun to the building with the intention of shooting the boys who bullied him. The boy who brought the gun was expelled, but I don't know if he was ever charged with anything, and it is because he never did use the gun, but as Simon continued to talk, the boy was shown opening up his locker to show the authorities that he did have a gun in there.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. Another good episode was during the tenth season when Martin becomes the victim of racist activity when a racist message was painted on the back of his vehicle.

I used to watch this too, but back then there weren't many series being shown in their original language. I would possibly buy the whole series but for a good price.
One episode I actually remember was about a holocaust denier.

I also used to watch it back in the day, but mostly because it was on right before "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" on Monday's in the US. Once 'Buffy' moved to Tuesday's when 'Dawson's Creek' premier I lost track of it. I remember it being decently entertaining, but like other said that was back when there was a much more limited amount of options out there.

That episode was somewhere during the second season. At the end of the show, a lady tells her story of survival in front of Simon's sixth grade class.

God bless you always!!!

^^^ I wish that the show could be resurrected, but if it were to come back, it would be sad due to the cast members who are no longer here. I started this very chat about the boy who gave us David. He was the twin who grew shaggy looking hair in the later seasons. Sadly, a car accident took him from us almost five years ago. The two ladies who gave us Aunt Julie and the girl that Matt gets married to are not here anymore either.

God bless you and the remaining cast members always!!!

Holly

P.S. The man who gave us Matt's father-in-law is also gone.

^^^ The show could be done without him. Considering the heart issues that Eric dealt with during the show, it could easily be written that he has passed away already. Lucy and Kevin could be the leading couple on the show since she became a preacher like her dad.

God bless you always!!!

I wouldn't watch any new series without him. He would be sorely missed when he isn't around.
