I was watching the first film last night on Blu-Ray--and it blew my mind how well all of the action has held up by today's standards, considering all of the filmmakers that have attempted to riff on Gareth Evans' style. Also, with the recent trailer for 'Gangs of London' (Evans' new series for Sky) I felt like revisiting all of his films again.
Both of 'The Raid' films still rank among my favorite action films ever, so I would really love to see them get the UHD treatment. Especially since the standard blu for the first film, is riddled with banding and compression artifacts, and has not held up well in the visual department, unfortunately. |
