If this is the older master that Steven Stanchfield is talking about in the Thunderbean thread it's probably not going to look as good as it could

According to the blu-ray.com news article, it's a new 4K restoration by Paramount.

I know Kino Lorber said that they wouldn't do classic animation after the DePatie-Freleng discs flopped, but I hope this sells well enough for them to reconsider.

So, is it the 2019 HD Paramount master, or is it a brand new 4K restoration? I just love conflicting reports!

I don't get why they bothered to do any series aside from Pink Panther. You'd think it would be obvious that there was no demand for "Crazylegs Crane" or "The Blue Racer".

The 2019 restoration would still be considered "new" since it was never released.

Kino’s post literally says it’s the new 2019 HD master. If it was any other master they wouldn’t have written 2019.

Those series aren't even well-liked by classic cartoon fans who buy most of thee sets. They had no hope of selling.

Well I'm proud to have them in my collection.

On the topic, we definitely need Kino to start rolling out on animation again. I remind everyone they have deals with Paramount AND Universal; two companies that own a piece of Famous Studios animation library and now's a good time to make talks. Really, we need box sets of Betty Boop, and the WHOLE non-Popeye/Superman Fleischer/Famous studios library (though I have no objection of including some PD Popeyes and all of Superman especially if the negatives come straight from Paramount and can look better than what Warner put out for the latter).

We need to support the heck out of this! More vintage animation is a good thing, especially from bigger labels like Kino.

For those who don't know what this is, this is an animated film from the 1940's that was produced by the same studio that gave us Betty Boop, Popeye, the first Superman cartoons and Gulliver's Travels. While I personally feel that Gulliver was the better film, I still highly recommend this movie if you enjoy vintage animation at all.
