Blu-rays with english subtitles published outside of India? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi! I've all but given up on bollywood blurays, but I recently got a korean version of Dangal because I snoozed and lost on the Indian release. Turns out the translation is excellent, which was my main concern given how bollywood movies are translated on some Swedish streaming services.

So I'm half pitching a mega-thread (doesn't have to be this one) on what movies are available with english subs on blu-ray outside of India. Mainly those that don't have indian releases at all, but others too, given that the original releases are increasingly difficult to find.

I think others may find this helpful, too.

Why bother so much man. It was not advisable earlier but now given the state of bluray discs market, its just easier to download Indian movies. If u r woried about quality and subs DM me i ll give u a good source link

I doubt German and Japanese releases of Indian films will have English subs.

Ayngaran releases of Tamil movies in the UK all have subs, but all OOP, and people have been complaining of discs not playing after a while, so be wary of paying a premium for an old/used copy.

All the Indian movies released on Criterion have English subtitles. This includes the Satyajit Ray movies, Mira Nair movies and the stuff released in the WCP boxes (Kalpana and River Called Titas)

The US blu of Kites has Eng subs at least for the Hindi/Bollywood cut.

Cinelicious release of Gangs of Wasseypur (OOP now)

All these following overseas editions have English subtitles. But most of them were OOP.

Watchout Nova Media Winter sale in December for Guzaarish,PK, 3 Idiots, My Name is Khan. They some how manage to get couple of copies on every sale. I got them on the sale in last couple of years.
