I heard mixed things about this one to say the least. I'm pretty sure this will have to be imported if anyone wants it on UHD. Amazon and Broad Green don't support the format.

Yeah Germany is on top of their UHD game. They are really killing it over there.

Importing is not cheap. We should be treated with these titles here in the U.S the exact same way.

Nope. No region coding on UHD. The Blu-ray that's included is another matter entirely.

I count two proper world exclusives. This film (so far) and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. The U.S. has several UHD world exclusives, and we will probably end up with more than Germany when the format has run its course, just as with Blu-ray.

But diversification is a great thing, and if Germany wants a UHD BD of a film, they should be able to put it out, and we should just import it. You should complain to the studio here who has not announced a UHD BD for the US.

Im all over this although i am pretty gutted it only has 5.1. The soundtrack and visuals are what 4k was made for. Let's hope that cover is reversible aswell. Some German releases have reversible covers in order to get rid of the classification.

Ultra HD Blu-ray and object-based audio don't necessarily go hand-in-hand. In fact, it's more important to maintain the proper presentation of the film in question, than anything else.

As far as I'm aware, The Neon Demon had "only" a 5.1 mix in theatres, and unless Refn requests and oversees a Dolby Atmos or DTS: X remix for the home release, then I certainly don't want anything other than the theatrical mix on the Blu-ray and the Ultra HD Blu-ray.
