Default Star Wars Black 40th Anniversary 6" Figures

So who is getting these? I was dying for them so badly that I put in a pre-order at an online shop for a set of the first six:

(sorry for not trimming up the images!)

With shipping, I got these six for just about $200 where I ordered....now I await them and have crossed fingers for no damage in the mail.

There is a second series of them too, that comes out soon after, with a Jawa, Tusken Raider, Death Squad Commander, Stormtrooper, Chewbacca and C3PO.

the big vintage-style cards are what did it for me. Totally reminded me of the originals when I'd gotten them as a child. While I don't adore the human sculpts, the others look phenomenal, especially that Vader and R2.

THAT is awesome. I wish that stores around me kept this stuff in stock. The Philly/NJ area is rife with collectors leaving the damned shelves bare.

If you don't want ebay and can't find them in any brick and mortar, I ordered mine from http://www.toywiz.com

Ok, ALSO...if you run on over to http://www.gamestop.com you can find them in the $22 range, though the R2D2 is gone. Great news is that Gamestop has an exclusive to the line and he is still currently available!

I just checked Hasbro Toyshop and they have Leia for $19.99 free shipping. Although I passed right now due to the fact Sabine Wren just came out in Black Series :O

These are really cool. I saw them a while back and they tempted me to buy action figures again!

So this figure pretty much ENDS my purchasing/collecting of the retro 40th Anniversary line:

It is available ONLY at the Orlando Star Wars Celebration con, which to me, just isn't fair for all the other collectors who are buying the line. 99% of them on ebay are around $150 for ONE figure that just came out.

No thanks. Customer lost.

These figures are up on the Target's website right now. You can get a decent deal if you plan on picking up at least 3 (19.99 each) by using the 10 off 50 code and a Redcard.

These are actually really cool. Debating on picking them up or not. I've given up on Hasbro, but I'm still tempted.

Sadly, neither the Han, nor the R2D2 are "available within 100 miles" of me...which makes me unable to get them off their site and they're the two hardest to get.

BUT...I did cancel my order with toywiz.com in favor of ordering the exact same "6 pack" with bigbadtoystore.com for almost $35 less. I was surprised when the first store wouldn't price match and instead took the full loss when I cancelled with them.

If you can get the Han and R2 at a Target near you? DO IT!

I have to say, I really like the second series better since there is only one "human."

For anyone who doesn't want to pay ebay or even non-major chain stores for a set...

I was just on both ToysRUs.com and BestBuy.com and both have the Darth Vader Early Bird Packs. Between them and Target you can get everyone but R2 and Han for regular to cheapish prices if you have online coupons.

Just received my alert today that, of all the figures I've pre-ordered, the first one coming to my home is the GameStop R5D4 exclusive.

CANNOT WAIT!

these are really awesome......but I imagine they are a slippery slope.....at least for me.

how do you ever stop or pass on a figure when it's released??

I already have a bad addiction to Star Wars Funko Pops.....don't need another money pit.

out of curiosity, what's in the legacy pack w/darth vader??

That is pretty high. My preorder is for $115 for them at Big Bad Toy Store. You can go to TrU and get Luke Obi and Leia for $20 each.

The "legacy pack" is a nod to when the originals came out back in like 1977...if you sent away for the figures, the first thing to arrive in the mail was a stand for them with a cardboard background. That is what the Vader comes with.

Also, I'm not passing on any of these figures. Until announced, there is only two sets, with the second bunch coming in June. I'm fine with the 13 and being done there.

ok, that's what I thought the legacy pack was. I knew it was a throwback to the originals, which is pretty awesome.

i'd have a hard time not getting all of them if they kept releasing them.
