[Old Bones]

I picked up Navy Seals today for $20 at Future Shop (I love this movie). It also includes a dvd copy of the movie (not a digital copy). This dvd copy is exactly the same as the old dvd I have had for years.... Dolby 2 channel audio. The Blu-ray has a rockin' 5.1 DTS-MA track. Not that I care , but why would they include a DD-2 channel dvd when it could of been a DD-5.1.

Because they are using the same DVD available for sale stand alone. Its cheaper to just do that instead of having to spend money to create a new audio menu, authoring, and pressing new DVDs.

Yeah, I just finished it up and had the same feelings. I expected it to look way worse or at least unremarkable, but the PQ was pretty darn good. Way cleaner of a print than I figured it would be too. I never had the dvd, but since MGM saw fit to throw it in there also, I did some comparisons. For those curious, it blows the SD version out of the water.

Probably been 10 years since I've seen the movie, but it was a lot of fun. Cheap price, good transfer, I am liking it.

And for the time it came out, it had a pretty stellar cast (considering what they have done since then).

There's actually a lot of deleted scenes for this if the novelization bits were actually filmed

Yes, I was bored and it was one of those "fill the bag for $2 with used books" deals

I also got the T2 novelization with the huge opening originally planned intact. Man that was badass but would've cost about $15 million by itself

Nothing wrong with novelizations. I have quite a collection of thosefrom the '80s.

Farrr from a classic, but this fun actioner deserves a new transfer.

The DE/AT release has better encoding but loses the original stereo track.

It's a MOD release from MGM. They've been releasing several of them, some new to BD, some re-releases, over the last year or so.

No 2.0 stereo? So they actually dropped the OG audio track that was on the MGM disc? Arses!!
