Jonah Hill’s filmmaking debut was 2018’s skateboard drama “Mid90s” via A24. It garnered good reviews. I found the film to be a slight, but very authentic coming-of-age story.
Hill is now set to direct “Cut Off,” starring Jennifer Lawrence, and helmed over at Warner Bros. The project just secured California Production Tax Credits. A rumored shoot in the fall is being eyed on the project.
“Cut Off,” described as a comedy, tackles two non-fraternal twins who get cut off from their wealthy family, and must learn to navigate the real world. Hill is playing one of the twins, and Lawrence has been offered the role of the other.
Hill has already shot and completed his sophomore effort, “Outcome,” starring Keanu Reeves, and Cameron Diaz. It’s been testing very well these last few months. A fall release is being eyed on that one.
