I saw this in the theatre last night (it only opened here on Friday), and yeah this is a must buy. Any idea if this will get a UK release? Nordic release is probably going to be Blu ray only. I'll happily buy the German one though, as long as it has Dolby Atmos and English subtitles.

Many Finnish newspaper critics called it a masterpiece you don't want to ever watch again. It wasn't a fun watch for sure, but I'd put it there with Black Hawk Down when it comes to it having some really tough parts to watch, rather than what Schindler's List is for me. Which was a masterpiece I saw in the movie theatre in 1993, and still refuse to go back to.

Haven't seen the movie, yet. Does it have any hardcoded captions? If so, expect them to be translated to german (and only re-translated back to english via subs) for this release.

Check out 'Lone Survivor' with Mark Wahlberg- an excellent, hard hitting war film I think you will enjoy.

Despite watching it last night I am not 100 % sure, but I think none of the Iraqi (or Arabic?) talk (of which there was not a lot of) was subtitled because it was mainly the translators the Seal team had with them.

Yeah, saw that soon after it was released. I liked it a lot but have not felt the need to watch it again.

Trailer looks excellent. This is totally in my wheelhouse. I'll be waiting for a 4k uhd disc to drop, and going in blind.

Watched it today and thought it was brilliantly done. Very tight story with no flab.

Garland's best to date.

I see the US disc has:

“Courage Under Fire: The Making of Warfare” (29mins)

Would of loved something far more detailed.

Subtitles will decide the country of purchase.

The Searchers aka Remain in Light, are a Benelux label.

Hence the Dutch subs.

The French releases of Ferrari and The Beekeeper are ports of the Benelux discs.

A bit disappointed if the specs are true, as The Beekeeper and Devotion both had Dolby Vision and English Dolby Atmos tracks.

This is already streaming for free on Prime which makes me wonder if they have picked up the UK distribution (similar to Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare). If that's the case, we could be waiting a very long time before we see a physical media release. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'm not gonna wait for it to happen. Unless we get an announcement before the end of July, I'll pick up the US A24 release.

For the Germany release? They will once it's released you can put it in your basket (but not check out) by changing your delivery country on the top left corner of their site. Or:

None of these are likely English subtitle friendly which is a must for most folk. A24 fo me I reckon.

The diaglogue of the imbedded Iraqi soldiers including the translator talking to each other was subtitled on the stream I watched it was quite important to build some tension. I didn't think it all had to be subtitled but pretty sure it was.

Otherwise, no need for subttiles as we're in the same position as the Navy SEALs ie NFI what's being said and why. That's free plot tension.
