Default Dog Soldiers 4K UHD (2002) (Collector's Edition)

Dog Soldiers 4K Blu-ray

Quote:
A group of soldiers dispatched to the Scottish Highlands on special training maneuvers face their biggest fears after they run into Captain Ryan – the only survivor of a Special Ops team that was literally torn to pieces. Ryan refuses to disclose his mission even though whoever attacked his men might be hungry for seconds. Help arrives in the form of a local woman who shelters them in a deserted farmhouse deep in the forest ... but when they realize that they are surrounded by a pack of blood-lusting werewolves, it's apparent their nightmare has just begun!

From Neil Marshall, the director of The Descent, Doomsday, Centurion and episodes of Game Of Thrones, comes this terrifying thriller starring Kevin McKidd (Rome, Trainspotting), Sean Pertwee (Gotham, Event Horizon), Emma Cleasby (Doomsday) and Liam Cunningham (Game Of Thrones).

I thought Scream factory were using the original theatrical posters for their 4k releases that already had a new commissioned artwork before? What happened? This is terrible too, hopefully this is the wrong artwork.
And man, I always support Scream factory but with Second sight working on this, the only incentive I would have had buying Scream over Second would have been if it had the theatrical poster on the slipcover.

Edit: both Cat people and Funhouse have their original theatrical poster. Strange.
Edit 2: what is the original poster for Dog soldiers lol. I figured it was the one used on the dvd cover but that might not be the case. Anyone knows? What did scream used on the reversible of their previous blu ray release?

Horrible artwork.

As long as the original art, is on the other side of the insert, I'm fine.

If they use the new art on the slipcover, I'll just throw it away, like I do with the rest of the ugly ones.

Collaboration with Second Sight maybe?

Not sure when theirs is coming out though.

It wouldn't be that bad if they had removed that third werewolf on the left. The other two, especially the top one looks pretty good and the colors and the moon are pretty nice. But the werewolf on the left looks like it's in a Shampoo commercial and really hurts the whole vibe.

You should be. Especially with Second Sight's release in the pipeline. Unless someone is a die-hard SF fanboy and blindly buys their shit no matter what, or one doesn't want to buy imports, there is no reason to even consider this one until we know where the SF transfer came from and what it looks like.

Since the Second Sight UHD, is also releasing in June, could it be that Scream are using their transfer?

Yeah, sorry Scream. The amount of scratched discs and snarky CS responses... Second Sight will be getting my money for this one.

This'll likely use the new master but there's a chance it won't, and in any case I'd rather wait for the SS disc instead. After all the bad encode shenanigans and Life force I kinda don't want to bother ever.

Also bad art lmao

Well they both have terrible art, but I'll have to go with the company that shown me more respect as of late...

Krampus, The Howling and Alligator had fantastic compression, they’ve probably sorted those issues out.

It could very well be Second Sight's transfer but it could also be Koch Media's transfer. If this is Second Sight's transfer, it'd be hella weird to see SF announcing this before Second Sight announces their own.

We don't know what Second Sight's artwork will look like. We've only seen preliminary images but nothing about the actual physical release yet.
