HELP! PS3 Bitstream gone!! - Blu-ray Forum

I've got a PS3 connected via HDMI to an Onyko SR604. For the last few months, I've been able to freely choose between PCM or Bitstream under the "AV Settings" in the in-movie menu...but now the PCM/Bitstream option is gone!!

the other options in the "AV Settings" (Video Output Format, Y/PB/CB,etc) are still there...but PCM/Bitstream is gone!!

Then I went to the XMB and under "BD/DVD settings" chose "Bitstream" for HDMI, but while watching Die Hard (Blu ray), my receiver still says "PCM"...for the past few months my PS3 was sending DTS Bitsream no problem...what happened?? any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like handshaking issue. Try turning off both units. Also try using a composite cable (480i) before switching to HDMI.
