I keep feeling bad about hijacking the main X-Files thread to talk about Millennium, so I thought I'd start a thread about it.
I never watched the show when it first aired. I remember watching the pilot and maybe a couple shows after it (and enjoying them well enough), but I just didn't have the time for it. The only TV I was watching regularly was the X-Files. I ended up buying the entire series of Millennium on DVD at least 5 years ago (for something like $50) but never got around to watching the show until now. My wife and I are huge X-Files fans and we're having a great time with it. Because a bunch of the same X-Files creators were behind it (Chris Carter, David Nutter, Glen Morgan, James Wong, Frank Spotnitz), it really feels like we're watching "new" old X-Files episodes, just with different characters. We need to have IMDB open virtually every time we watch an episode too, because there are SO many actors on this show that appeared in X-Files. It's such a hoot. An example: "Oh, he's somebody." - PAUSE DVD PLAYER - "He was...the guy in the X-files who had this virus and was on a bus with Mulder and he had this big disgusting boil on his face. He was also in Hard Core Logo." - CHECKS IMDB - "John Pyper-Ferguson. Wow, he played two different X-Files characters. Jeepers, he even played two different characters in Millennium. Funny." - UNPAUSE DVD PLAYER - We just finished the absolute BONKERS season two. I know that the popular opinion is to just stop there and not bother with season three, but I've already got the season three DVDs on my shelf. So it's happening eventually. I just need to drop my expectations. I'm on a bit of a Millennium high right now, so I started listening to the "The Time is Now" podcast and am trying to track down an affordable copy of the Back to Frank Black book. And I'm really curious about the note on the season 2 DVD that specifically mentions Morgan and Wong declined to be a part of the 30-minute retrospective. Were they salty about how everything played out? Any other Millennium fans out there? ![]() |
