United Kingdom Dredd 3D Blu-ray (2012) [Region Locked / Free]

Am looking forward to the release in September of the reboot of Judge Dredd.

Was not a fan of the Stallone fronted campfest from the 90's as they turned him into a laughing stock and being a fan of 2000ad, they commited sacriledge by making him take his helmet off!!!

Karl Urban fronts this one & we've been promised the Dredd we've always longed for.

I'm hoping that this will match the planet of the apes reboot for quality.
Its being shot in native 3d as well, plus he is going to be keeping his helmet on, this time!!!

Dude although this is a forum section for discussion on 3D blu ray releases, I tend to get shouted down for posting about it......that aside, at least get the movie title correct...its called Dredd not Judge Dredd

Dredd should be good I hope (better than the Punisher movies hopefully). Karl Urban's known for his role as Eomer in Lord of the Rings, and a few other movies, including Star Trek, Priest 3D, Doom and the upcoming Riddick sequel I see.

Hopefully it's in 3D and in theaters by December 2012. This one has Dredd fighting against drug gangs in a futuristic city, where he's a policeman/judge/jury and executioner it's said.

I wasnt aware of this movie coming out, im definitely excited for it. I too, thought the stallone version was a huge joke. Having Karl Urban in the title role is certainly enough to make me want to see it. Not only was his work in lotr terrific, i thought he was great in the chronicles of riddick, should be a very interesting movie.

The 2D trailer looks pretty cool. Hopefully a 3D version will surface soon. I like the futuristic city and art style.

It has been shot in 3d & will be with us in September. Will also feature Lena Headey (game of thrones) as a gang leader and a rumour of Dredd's biggest foe, Judge death!!!

I'm really looking forward to this. Looks somewhat cheesy, but I love Karl Urban and the fact that it's being shot in native. From what I can gather in the 2D trailer, it looks like we're going to be in for a big treat when we see the 3D version.

One thing I have to mention though, am I the only one who immediately thought of the action movie "The Raid: Redemption" (the one that came out this year) when they showed the setup with the big skyscraper? :P lol

He was one of my favorite characters in the LOTRs, standing against the corruption of Grimer Wormtongue and fending for his sister.

September 2012, nice. Lena Headey also in 300 as Butler's wife.

I hope so.

I wanted to see the import "The Raid" earlier this year, but elected for "Lock Out" with Guy Pearce, which was a decent, comical adventure movie. Was the Raid good? I see they were going floor to floor to fight the bad guys. I wonder if Dredd is similar.

I've heard nothing but raves about the Raid. Heard stuff like "Best action movie in years" and "One of the best action movies ever made" I can't wait to watch it on bluray!

Definitely all the native 3D shot stuff looks much better than converted 2D so if Dredd is native 3D then I'm in.

That trailer was awesome!!

Glad to see some buzz about this now.

Screenplay by Alex Garland & written by long time Dredd writer Carlos Esquerra.

Gonna be the surprise hit of the year methinks!!!

Can't wait for the 3d blu now!!

It's really immersive when it breaks past the frame!

Sounds awesome. I hope the 3D delivers strong.

OFF TOPIC:
Speaking of the former Judge Dredd, Stallone's Expendables 2 is out this summer. The first one had some good action, but nothing spectacular. Sadly, Stallone's older son recently passed away from an apparent overdose of medication at 36 years the other day.

Yes. Theatrical release date of 9/21/12--one week after RE: Retribution. I'm looking forward to seeing those slomo moments from the trailer. Should be some excellent 3D action if they made appropriate parallax and convergence decisions.

Dredd had an early screening at Comic-Con 2012 and got mostly positive reviews for action and 3D.

Cool. Thanks BleedOrange. That means we'll be seeing trailers on TV hopefully soon, RE:R3D, first one seen today on TV. Will also check this one out in theaters and hope it's better than the Punisher movies.

Thumbs up

[bump thread]

Reviews are starting to roll in, and so far there are a number of positive reviews from action fan critics who enjoyed Dredd 3D September 21st, 2012.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1343727/

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1343727/externalreviews

They mentioned that if this makes at least 50 million, there is room for a sequel.
I'll have to see it first before I can hope for a sequel. Hopefully it's as good as it was hyped up to be by the critics, who mostly enjoyed it. Hopefully the 3D is great.
September 21st this is out, 1 week after Resident Evil Retribution 3D. Tough competition IMO.
