I recently got rid of a bunch of old DVDs that weren't anamorphic and this was one of them. I was shocked to learn later that it's not out on blu-ray and that I couldn't replace it.

By the way, I do realize I'm bumping an old thread here.

Anne Hache and Harrison Ford were the strangest duo to appear in a adventure movie together that I've ever seen. There was no chemistry between them at all! They were like Frick and Frack.... I didn't like Six Day Seven Nights specifically for that reason.

You're right about that, but Jacqueline Obradors looks amazing. A fun, mindless movie that I got for free when I bought my first DVD player.

I love this movie. It's a fun little romantic-comedy-adventure, and Harrison Ford and Anne Heche play off each other so well.

I bought the DVD when it first came out and had wondered over the years if it was ever re-released in Anamorphic, but it appears it wasn't. I'd buy it on Blu-ray in a heartbeat.

Our UK DVD is anamorphic, I had to check it's usually something I re-watch on TV whenever it's on!

I just noticed that this site's listing shows the Region 1 DVD as being 16:9, which is obviously wrong.

However, this (double feature) release is from 2008, so I wonder if it's 16:9. Have never seen it before.

EDIT: According to a user review of that double feature set, it's still 4:3.

I'm not sure about the double-feature, titles do get updated, but it's rare unless they bring out a new edition, I still see non-anamorphic DVDs in stores with new covers!

This movie was massively cut down before it was released. It was much more of an action film before being cut to a romantic comedy. The pirate plot in the second half comes and goes as if nothing happened.
