Our friends over at bluray disc.de have tagged this as Blu-ray 3D and based on price it may actually be.

Wait, let me get this straight.
Clash Of The Titans is a poorly converted 3D movie and the reviews say so. Yet, it's still being pressed ahead as a 3D Blu Ray? .....Personally, I like 3D, but if it means stuff like this, then 3D does need to start dissapating into nothing, or just dissapering from public view. |

I didn't see any official announcement for this. I was hoping that before they released this they would improve on the 3D. But since it's coming so soon that's doubtful.
Hopefully they will fix up Airbender before releasing it. I'm one of the few people that kind of enjoyed that as a movie. Even with the sometimes terrible acting. Clash Of The Titans kind of sucked all the way around. There was a couple of fun scenes, but that was about it. Edit: Wait, this does not look like a blu-ray 3D title. It does not have the logo on the box. It must be just the red and blue glasses type. If this is the case I'll be skipping it for sure. Last edited by Lovemy3D; 07-24-2010 at 09:09 PM. |

I'm fine with 3-D conversions, if they are done well. Alice in Wonderland was done well for 90% of the film...Alice was conceived as a 3-D project, and all digtal effects were completed/composited in 3D anyways...so it was kind of a hybrid. Clash of the Titans was awful, no buts about it. If you want to see something impressive, ask a Best Buy employee to put the Sony 3D demo disc in the Panasonic Blu-ray player and VT25 series. Then have them put on Alice in Wonderland. It's the best 3D clip I've seen outside of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs...especially if the salesmen knows what setting to put the TV on.
Early VT25 have a color decoding error in 3D where the Blue channel is set way too high. Since you can adjust the Blue back out by taking it to -25 in the settings this results in a more natural skin tone. It'll blow you away. |

Because the sane people over at WB in America realised how poor the 3D conversion was and how people wouldn't want to spend their money on a poorly converted 3D film. Actually, they'd probably still take your money but, maybe they realised how unimpressed the majority of people were with the 3D and decided it wouldn't be worth putting that version of the film onto disc?

You won't believe this... Sharps new 3D Aquos TV's just came out here in Japan on 7/30. Sharp is using Clash of the Titans as their promotion. One free disc with the purchase of their 3D TV...

This thread has helped me enormously, so a huge thanks to everyone involved. I haven't seen clash of the Titans anywhere but up to today thought it was a genuine 3D movie...not the poor, very poor conversion I have been reading about here. After reading the advice here I am going to give this a miss.
I am so glad to have found this forum ![]() |

Those of us old enough to remember when CDs first came out, it was exactly the same scenario. Due to the lack of pure digital recordings, the studios were transfering poor analog recordings to CD. The results were horrible. The major audio magazines of the time ( there was no such thing as the internet ) had sections devoted to rating the new CDs that came out each month so we consumers would know ahead of time which CDs were good and which were lame, as the majority of decent CDs were $20 - $30 each at that time ( can you believe that ? ). And, it took a while before supply finally met up with demand, the good outnumber the bad and prices began falling dramatically. Now today, you can purchase a CD for $1 that would blow away many of those $30 CDs from the early '80's. Not to mention that the first generation CD players were $3000 each and would be considered a piece of junk by today's standards. Que sera, sera.
