Default The Stranger (2022)

One of my favourite Australian films of the last decade is The Stranger starring Joel Egerton and Sean Harris (in a career best performance).

It's currently languishing on Netflix.

I contacted Transmission Films (Australian distributor) in December 2022 and asked about a possible physical media release.

They informed me that Netflix was handling everything.

Ugh.

Anyone else seen it and hoping for a blu-ray or even 4K release?

It is a truly exceptional film.

I saw THE STRANGER on the big screen at the Melbourne International Film Festival, and like you, I thought it was fantastic!! I also was devastated when it was mentioned that Netflix had the film as I knew that the odds of me owning it on disc was now next to none.

Mate, so jealous.

A big screen experience would've been incredible.

Surely Netflix will eventually lose the rights and a disc will become available.

I'm holding out hope....

70% chance Transmission Films wouldn't have released this on Blu-ray anyway, last two Blu-ray that came out were in 2019 and 2020 (with some like C'mon C'mon becoming DVD only).
