It doesn't exist in 4K, only in bluray.

This distributor likes their forced subtitles. BUT I'm still verr please as it means the license must be up for grabs in Europe too, so I'm glad I held off from buying the Shout. Hopefully a UK one won't be far off.

Is there anything wrong with the Shout release, aside from the lack of theatrical cut in 4K? Does it have any encoding issues?

I’m hoping for the theatrical cut too but I’m not holding my breath since they’re likely using the Shout master which was done for the extended cut after Stone decided to go for that version. Also, I’m not expecting that this label are capable of matching Shout’s encode as I didn’t really like how their The Name of the Rose release turned out and JFK is a little longer than that film.

What about the german UHD of The Name of the Rose?

Yeah I'm going nowhere near this one because L'Atelier can't encode 4K for shit
