Default Price Increase

Looks like they are raising the price for Apple TV+ to $9.99/month:

https://www.apple.com/apple-tv-plus/

As an existing subscriber I currently still see the offer for the annual subscription at the old price ($69/year), so it may be possible to lock in that price for another year. However, the annual subscription only takes effect when the current monthly subscription period ends (in my case early November), so it's not entirely clear if they will still honor the $69 price by then.

These subscriptions raising every damn prices is getting ridiculous over these last two months. It’s slowly getting to the point where we can’t afford it.

Canceled. I might have done a buck increase but 40% is ridiculous.

do people not cancel it after a show they like has ended?

The movies aren't even much of a draw since the big ones like Killers of the Flower Moon release in theaters.

If I can get the $69/year price when my monthly subscription expires early November I'll take it. If I have to pay $10/month I'll reconsider.

They seem to add just enough new quality stuff I want to see to justify the current price for me. Next month there'll be Monarch and a new season of For All Mankind, December has a new season of Slow Horses, January Masters of the Air, and there are still quite a few shows I want to watch that I haven't gotten around to yet (such as Servant).

Yeah, I do. I probably only subscribe to Apple TV+ about once a year (mostly for Foundation at this point, and previously for Dickinson).

This isn't one I'm particularly worried about, but it is yet another streaming service raising their prices. It's beyond ridiculous at this point. One wonders how high some of them are going to get (the frequency of these price increases is just ramping up).

Apple TV+ is one of the few streaming services that lets re-subscribers use free trials with the purchase of Apple products or Apple gift cards on promotions at Target, Best Buy, etc.

Hopefully they don't take that away too.

The price for the annual subscription has changed to $99/year in my subscription settings, so it looks like I won't get the old price (even though I received an email saying that the subscription would renew at $69/year after switching from monthly to annual).

Judging by the increase in Netflix subscribers, apparently not.
