Given Shout is still working on restoring Army of Darkness for a 4K UHD release, makes sense why it wouldn't be in this set. Would have been nice to have the Evil Dead remake make it to 4K, though.

Most definitely. I actually liked the remake quite a bit. I went to see it during the theatrical run, and watched it a few times on home video. A 4k release would be great.

I guess this could be interesting if it includes that "reimagined" version with the new score, but my guess is it's just a complete repackage. Hope so, anyway, because I have no intention of paying a box set price just to see an alternate cut. I'm not that curious.

Not sure about the “Groovy Collection” title. Sometimes the word groovy reminds me of The Evil Dead quote, sometimes it reminds me of Earthworm Jim, and sometimes Rodney Trotter and the Groovy Gang.

It's a good line from the movie, but a stupid name for the collection. Why do Collections even need names? Does only having two movies even warrant the designation "collection?" Will The Evil Dead have the correct pitch in its audio? Does this include the TV show?

Haha wow. Both films had single 4K releases, a dual Steelbook collection, and now this. Absolutely insane that these movies have their 3rd release on such a "new” format .

If it has the remake and the series in 4K, I'm totally in though.

This thread is hilarious and I agree.
I saw the title and literally thought oh f*** off because I know I'm going to buy this haha. I held off on Evil Dead 2 4K because I hated the cover art and knew a re-release would be coming eventually. I'll see what the packaging on this looks like before I decide. I'll buy one of the Evil Dead 2 4k releases eventually but I'm in no hurry with these films even though I love them.

Checks calendar. Oh it's Thursday, must be time for another Evil Dead release. I have the 4K Steelbook of 1 & 2 so until Army of Darkness makes it's way to 4K, I'm groovy.

How about they get the audio right this time for the first film? Doesn't the first film on UHD have a PAL pitch issue? But I'm sure it will be the same disc. I just bought the 2nd film but held off on the first thanks to the audio issue. I do not want to buy the 2nd film all over again. This is getting ridiculous.

The price on that site is definitely the MSRP. Look at the other titles on the site, they are listed for much higher than anywhere else.

I missed the Best Buy Steelbook of 1&2 and dont have the series yet as i was waiting for a price drop. but im all in for this!
