United Kingdom Pulp Fiction & Jackie Brown UK release (October 17th)

I apologise if this has already been a topic, but i'm hoping someone will be able to help, if not just discuss.

Basically, I have only seen these two films avaliable on Steelbook from like France and other countries (?). So why is it that they (2 popular films by Tarantino) have not been released generally in the UK or even in the uS (that I know of)?

The answer is most probably 'because they haven't' but I'll ask anyway, in case there is a actual reason.

But, kind of annoying considering some of the crap that gets released. Anyways, thanks for any help.

Both are being released on October 4th in the US. And it seems like a lot of the Lionsgate/Miramax titles get released in the US and UK quite close together, so hopefully we'll get them around the same time.

They'll be being released later this year in the US, and also most likely in the UK too, as Lionsgate now have the rights to both films in both countries.

EDIT: Like Chris said above

Hopefully Pulp Fiction will not be tampered this time. The BBFC made the distributors zoom in a shot of Vincent Vega injecting himself with heroin.

Both great films, Jackie Brown gets better each time I see it. It's the last film before Tarantino was allowed to work without restraints and I'm not sure his later work is better for it - I'm certainly not fussed about adding Inglorious or Kill Bill to my collection, they are entertaining films and if are on TV sure I'll watch them - but for me his fist trio of films are his true masterpieces.

Although i didn't enjoy Inglourious Basterds at the cinema (I had a banging headache at the time, and reading subtitles didn't help), I have re-watched it a number of times since and actually think that's probably his best work even though I prefer to watch Pulp and Dogs.

I do love Pulp Fiction and is my fave of his works. Haven't seen Jackie Brown for a while. recently watched the Kill Bills and thought they were enjoyable but a bit boring in places.

I'd rate his work as:

1) Pulp fiction
2) Reservoir Dogs
3) Inglorious Basterds
4) Jackie Brown
5) Grindhouse (haven't seen Death Proof standalone, as it was intended to be Grindhouse first until the box office bombed)
6) Kill Bill Vol 2
7) Kill Bill Vol 1

Both are now up for pre-order at Play! 17th October release date for both.

Pulp Fiction: http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/2...n/Product.html

Jackie Brown: http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/2...n/Product.html

Two more catalogue titles annoyingly priced at £17.99, but at least now we have a release date and pre-orders somewhere! Hopefully they'll come down in price by then. Not a big fan of Jackie Brown but I'm definitely in for Pulp Fiction.

All I have to say is, it's about damn time!

Would like the yellow/red text on Jackie brown, like the French/international release, but whatever, it's all good.

Awesome news, good find Chris. Hopefully Jackie Brown won't feature a certain scene blown up to remove Fonda's butt like the dvd. Not to be a perv but the scene really annoyed me as it was really noticable after watching the vhs release and took away a lot of the image sharpness. I hate when studios make stupid alterations to their titles.

I hope they fix the cover art of Jackie Brown; it looks a little bit cheap.

As I said in another thread: £17.99 is the MSRP, the price will go down to 12-13 pounds.

I wouldn't go as far as saying it sucks but its definitely the weakest Tarantino film, in my opinion.

YES! We're going to be getting both of these releases near enough at the same time, hopefully they're exactly the same! Same cover art from the US editions as well, and Pulp looks to come with a slip!
