USA You're Next 4K UHD (2011) (Lionsgate Limited)

Lionsgate Limited will be releasing You're Next (2011) on 4K in a Limited Edition Steelbook on February 25th!. It'll include all of the special features from the Second Sight UK release as well as previous legacy features.

Quote:
This eye-popping 4K restoration of the slasher horror classic presented in Dolby Vision® HDR and approved by director Adam Wingard, brings more blood-soaked gore than ever before!

SteelBook® art by Matt Ryan Tobin.
The Lionsgate Limited edition 4K also includes new special features:

o “Children of the ’80s”: Interview with Adam Wingard and Simon Barretto

o Animated Storyboards
Original Special Features:

o Audio Commentary with Director Adam Wingard and Writer Simon Barrett and Actors Sharni Vinson and Barbara Crampton
o “No Ordinary Invasion: The Making of You’re Next”
o Theatrical Trailer
Quote:
Before director Adam Wingard was known for his explosive time in the American MonsterVerse, he was one of horror’s most popular filmmakers of the 2010s. He made multiple segments in the V/H/S franchise, directed an underrated legacy sequel to Blair Witch, and had a critical hit with The Guest. However, Wingard’s most beloved film in the genre community is 2013’s You’re Next. Now, thanks to Lionsgate, the modern home-invasion classic is coming to 4K for the very first time.

Available exclusively on Lionsgate’s direct-to-consumer site, Lionsgate Limited, this 4K limited edition of You’re Next boasts a collectible SteelBook® featuring Matt Ryan Tobin’s stunning art rendering of the iconic character, Lamb Mask. And horror fans will be delighted with hours of enthralling bonus content — including all of the special features presented in the 2024 UK version released by Second Sight, and the legacy special features from the Lionsgate’s original 2013 Blu-ray™ release.

You’re Next follows a broken upper-class family who try one last ditch effort to mend their past with a wedding anniversary party. However, with all the kids coming back home with their significant others, that unexpectedly makes them a prime target for a home invasion. What seems random at first, is anything but that with twists and turns sharper than a knife. There are many reasons You’re Next works so well, but it’s the deadly triple threat of Wingard’s direction, the witty writing, and the amazing ensemble cast that makes the slasher such a rewatchable treat.

While other films of the time like The Purge and Wingard’s later hit The Guest would become the more popular films of the sub-genre, You’re Next has aged like a horrifically fun, fine red wine over the last decade. Whether it be the gruesome kills, the unique atmosphere, or the iconic shots throughout, it’s a must-watch experience for any horror fan. Images like Erin holding the axe and the various animal masks of the villains are some of the most memorable frames in recent slasher history. It also featured beloved horror figures like Ti West (X, Pearl) and Barbra Crampton (Re-Animator, Suitable Flesh).

Wingard may be known now for his monster movies Godzilla vs Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, but the filmmaker will always be a horror kid at heart.

Already got the standard SS release, I’m good. This was a fun rewatch last year, really surprised Sharni’s career never really took off.

Very happy to see this. Hoping Wingard's underrated Blair Witch also gets a 4K UHD.

Me neither, even though I like this particular steelbook. But since the Tarantino films also got standard 4K’s at the same time, maybe the same will happen for this one and whatever else they release? I’m hoping anyways. It’s always best to have options.

Is this release going to be 70 bucks like The Conversation?

They probably will be, to keep the prices artificially inflated.

and yet they keep sitting on Black Christmas (2006) which still doesn't have a Blu-ray release in the US. If Lionsgate doesn't want to release it, I don't know why they would be against licensing it out. I bet Scream Factory would jump at the chance to do a 4K UHD/Blu-ray combo Special Edition. Maybe in 2026 for the 20th anniversary?

I really like the look of this steelbook. Kind of glad I didn't buy the Second Sight release, so I will buy this one, though shame it's a store exclusive. They're releasing The Last Witch Hunter 4K and Forbidden Kingdom 4K steelbooks on Amazon, but keeping some of these exclusive to their website without much rhyme or reason, or none that I can see.

Just got an email my order shipped.

I ordered this with 7 other titles before I knew the other titles wouldn't ship until this was released. Apocalypse Now had sold out and I was worried it wouldn't be included, but it's actually back in stock with 31 copies available and part of the shipment.

You're Next, The Third Man, Reservoir Dogs Reprint, The Conversation, Kill Bill I, Kill Bill II, Jackie Brown, Apocalypse Now Final Cut Reprint

Can't wait
