Hi all,
I'm pretty new around here. Long story short: I used to be huge into physical media, had a massive VHS and DVD collection, but for a variety of reasons, sat out for pretty much the entirety of the Blu-Ray generation. Now I'm getting back into it and I've built up a decent foundation of both BR and 4K UHD releases. Here's the question I want to pose: when a film you like is currently out on BR, but you wonder if a 4K is coming in the future, do you go ahead and buy the BR or wait for 4K? What factors go into how you make that choice? Been on my mind because the other day I was buying up stuff in the Criterion 50% off sale and almost got the Rushmore BR but decided to wait and see if they do an individual release of the 4K films from the new boxset. Conversely, I've snapped up a bunch of movies on BR without really thinking twice about whether a 4K would be coming soon. What's your experience? |
