I definitely find it bizarre there will be a 4K disc in Canada but not here.

I did not like the movie, but the visuals were great. it should look insane in uhd/hdr

Only issue is I still haven't upgraded to 4K yet and Paramount's BDs are region locked.

This is my favorite film of 2018 so far.

Alex Garland is in that Denis Villeneuve groove right now. Making bold, imaginative, daring sci-fi, that feels singularly unique and seminal.

This will be a day one purchase for sure.

Also, I should point out, though, that with my new subscription to AC, Rob Hardy revealed in the March 2018 issue, that he didn't get to do any of the final passes, as he was busy with the MI: Fallout gig.

Still should look amazing, though. This is an early contender for best Cinematography of the year.

He did get to contribute to the early passes, I should mention. And he did work with the colorist directly on what he wanted the film to look before departing to work on MI6.

I can't really blame him, though; MI6 had one hell of a crazy production. Christopher McQuarrie recently talked about how his staff had like 3 or 4 pregnancies to grant leave for (Hardy being one of them), Tom Cruise's broken ankle, they used like 40+ helicopters for stunts, etc, etc.

It sounded pretty damn insane.

But, yeah, 'Annihilation' looked absolutely gorgeous in theaters. So, I'm sure his intent will still come across despite not being in the suite to do the final pass with the colorist directly.
