Finally ...This is a great under-appreciated horror title, with a really creepy atmosphere to it (like The Changeling in that respect)

I saw both movies for the first time as an adult. The Changeling truly managed to scare me and became one of my favourites but Burnt Offerings was quite bad, I thought. There was some scene in the pool that made an impact, but otherwise I remember being quite bored. But still as an horror fan I've been collecting older films on BD, and maybe I accidentally throw this on the cart too as I did with dozens of other horror films that I didn't care for much

And I especially love watching extras and interviews on these older films as the makers and the cast can be more honest about things and don't have to go "Oh, the director was amazing to work with" and blah blah.

Haven't listened to Iced Earth, but Burnt Offerings was the third track on Testament's debut album too

Totally agree with you. The Changeling creeped me out to no end and is the better film, but I'm still going to pick this up. Gotta love Karen Black.

The Changeling is, hands down, a much better film. It's on my top ten, maybe even five, favorite horror films of all time list. Here's hoping for a proper blu-ray release (Thx for nothing, Japan! ).

Re: BO, I thought the acting was great and the film's strongest point. Especially Reed.

I prefer Burnt Offerings to the Changeling - I cant explain why other than *BO* clicked with me more. The Changeling might be a better made film, but to me I thought it was dull (if I recall). Ill probably try it again now !

Agreed. The Changeling is one of my fave horror film as well. Do you know if it's available on Blu anywhere in the world?

Great news! I hope they carry over the bizarre (and hilarious) commentary from the DVD.

Woohoo! The 70's supernatural genre is now well represented on Blu-ray. The Sentinel, The Legacy and now Burnt Offerings!

Another MGM horror title crossed off the list.

Is anyone keeping tabs of how many MGM horrors released on DVD are still awaiting an upgrade? There can't be too many left now, especially as we know more Price films are coming.

Im sure there are still quite a few.. there are still some *Midnite Movies* that havent been announced but are coming

There also might be more Cannon / MGM titles.

I know more Price titles are coming, I feel certain Bubba Ho Tep is coming.. there are the Species movies .. there are still a few highly sought after MGM horror titles out there, that hopefully are coming
